Program Expectations

On the first day of MOSS programs and camps, our instructors lead students in understanding expectations for safety and respect. If a student's behavior presents a concern for their safety or the safety and enjoyment of others, they may be removed from all or part of the program. In such cases, no refunds are issued and the student may be precluded from participating in future MOSS programs.

MOSS recognizes our responsibility in ethical use and care of the open spaces and wild landscapes that we explore, educate, and live in. We have taken the pledge to to serve as Outside Kind Ambassadors, following, demonstrating and promoting best practices, principles and tips for enjoying the wild places through our outdoor education programs.

MOSS pledges to facilitate positive outdoor experiences through our outdoor educuation programming by:

  • showing kindness and respect when interacting with our fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

  • coming to the trail ready to graciously share the space with others—even simply saying hello or a head nod creates a friendly atmosphere.

  • creating an inclusive outdoors and to care for and steward our public resources.

  • being mindful and practice Leave No Trace Principles and leave the flora and fauna for others to enjoy. I also agree to pick up and pack out trash.

  • staying on the trail as much as possible, and being mindful of trail conditions.

We encourage our MOSS families and friends to join us in this mission to not only respect and care for the great wild landscapes that we learn and recreate in, but also to respect and care for fellow users of these natural spaces.

www.OutsideKind.org has information and resources to help us ALL mutually enjoy and share these natural spaces.
