Rachel Caldwell

Director

Raised in the Pacific Northwest, Rachel moved around the West before putting down roots in Bozeman. After earning an MS in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana in 2014, she spent over ten years in the environmental nonprofit space managing community conservation programs and development initiatives. During this time, she specialized in collaborative conflict resolution to resolve intractable natural resource management challenges, bringing agencies, tribes, recreationists, biologists, and local residents together to achieve lasting conservation solutions. For the last several years, Rachel has supported the philanthropic community as a certified project manager, overseeing successful technology implementations for nonprofits and community foundations.

Rachel believes we all have a role to play in stewarding natural places, and is passionate about connecting people to nature in ways that are equitable, educational, and authentic. It was this passion that inspired Rachel to join MOSS, and she is excited to help carry on MOSS' 30-year legacy across Montana. In her spare time, you’ll find Rachel exploring the trails around Bozeman and chasing after her two children, often done in unison.
