Kathryn Socie-Dunning

Director

Kathryn is a professional science communicator who has been telling the stories of innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing problems for nearly 20 years, working with large, international organizations and small, local start-ups alike.

In addition, she has a knack for writing successful grant proposals and a love for strategy planning, stretching limited-budgets, and getting the most out of every action taken. While her path has been anything but straight, her work has consistently revolved around making a difference. Empowering the youngest generation with scientific literacy, deep appreciation of and value for the natural world is one small, but crucial step toward ensuring a healthy future for the planet. Kathryn identified MOSS as a strong leader in this arena and jumped at the opportunity to pitch in and help their efforts.

In addition, she’s a recovering field biologist with a serious wilderness problem and natural history addiction, adventuring daily with her wildly creative husband, young Son, and menagerie of canines.
