2019-2020 MOSS PIR Day Camps at MOR
Open to grades K-3
$60 per day for Museum of the Rockies and/or MOSS members (only 1 membership required) / $65 per day for non-members
$250 for the spring break week (March 16-20, 2020) for Museum of the Rockies or MOSS members (only 1 membership required) / $275 for non-members
MOSS School's Out Camps are held at the Museum of the Rockies from 9:00am to 3:30pm
Your child will be engaged in outdoor, hands-on learning as much as possible during each day of camp!
All curriculum meets Montana State standards and Next Generation Science Standards

Montana on My Mind
October 17th & 18th, 2019 | 9:00am - 3:30pm | $60 MOR or MOSS members / $65 non-members
What makes Montana so special? What animals are native to Montana? What adaptations help Montana animals survive? Explore the unique geology, plants, and animals that make our state unique with hands-on science activities!

Did you know that the strongest creature on Earth is an arthropod? Arthropods make up the largest group of creatures in the animal kingdom and include insects, arachnids, myriapods (such as centipedes), and crustaceans. Students will have the exciting chance to observe and handle live creatures and discover what makes them so important to ecosystems
Super Snow Science

Get up close and personal with snow and ice and have FUN exploring the science behind the Winter season. Get ready for plenty of outdoor experiments involving snow and ice, as well as a snow shoeing adventure!
Winter Animal Adventure

Did you know there’s a frog that freezes almost solid in the winter and then thaws out in the spring? How do animals survive long, cold winters? Learn about wonderful winter adaptations used by Montana animals!
Marvelous Messy Science
February 17th, 2020 | 9:00am - 3:30pm | $60 MOR or MOSS members / $65 non-members
Explore chemistry and physics during this exciting day of science camp. Be amazed by our hands-on experiments! Set up tests, record data, and learn what it’s like to be a real scientist! We’ll also get outside and discover “chemistry in nature” all around us.

Calling all junior herpetologists for an exciting week meeting reptiles and exploring their world! This week-long Spring Break camp is an adventure into the world of herpetology, utilizing live interactions, observations and STEAM activities. Students will have the opportunity to interact with the lizards, snakes and turtles from MOSS!
Wild and Wonderful Watersheds
April 2nd & 3rd, 2020 | 9:00am - 3:30pm | $60 MOR or MOSS members / $65 non-members
What’s special about aquatic environments and the wildlife found in and around them? Learn about the importance of this amazing ecosystem by taking a close look at fish and aquatic habitats. Get ready for experiential activities related to our wonderful watersheds.

On the first day of MOSS camp, instructors lead students in understanding expectations for safety and respect. If a student's behavior presents a concern for their safety or the safety and enjoyment of others, they may be removed from all or part of camp. In such cases, no refunds are issued and the student may be precluded from participating in future MOSS programs.
Cancellation and Refund Policy:
Cancellations made up to 31 days prior to the program start date will be refunded, minus a $50 processing fee. No refunds will be issued for “no shows,” withdrawals, illnesses, or cancellations made within 30 days of the program start date. If MOSS must cancel a program due to unforeseen circumstances or due to not meeting minimum enrollment, refunds will be issued to all registrants.
